California State at Stanislaus is a public, comprehensive university. Founded as an upper-division college in 1957,
it incorporated lower-division courses when it moved to the present campus in 1965. Its 228-acre campus is located midway
between the San Francisco Bay area and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
