Catherine Valerio Barrad joined the Office of General Counsel in January 2016. She is the Assistant Vice Chancellor and Chief Counsel - Business & Finance, and the University Counsel for California State University, Fullerton. Previously she served as University Counsel for San Diego State University, California State University, Bakersfield and California State University, Dominguez Hills. In addition to her responsibilities, Catherine also serves as resource attorney for Information Security and Tax. Prior to joining CSU, Catherine was a partner in the Litigation, Mass Torts, and Supreme Court & Appellate, and Privacy, Data Security and Information Law groups of Sidley Austin LLP, where she practiced for over 20 years.
