Christopher C. Fowler

Christopher C. Fowler joined the Office of General Counsel in October 2010. His current primary responsibility as University Counsel is advising California State University, Sacramento. He previously served in a similar role at California State University Channel Islands. Christopher previously served on the Office of General Counsel Litigation Team and was responsible for litigating a variety of systemwide and campus-based matters in state and federal courts. He serves as the Office of General Counsel's resource attorney for Information Security, Construction and Land Records. Following law school, Christopher clerked for the Honorable Sterling Johnson, Jr., in the Eastern District of New York, in Brooklyn. He also practiced at the New York offices of Proskauer Rose LLP and Heller Ehrman LLP before relocating to Southern California. Christopher worked at the law firms of Liner LLP and Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff before joining the California State University. His private practice focused on a wide variety of civil litigation and white-collar defense matters, including securities litigation, policyholder insurance coverage, and complex business litigation. Prior to attending law school, Christopher worked for several years at The New York Times and for several LGBT non-profits in both New York City and Los Angeles.
