Leora Freedman

​​Leora Freedman is the Associate Vice Chancellor and Deputy General Counsel for the California State University. She also serves as Assistant Secretary of the Board of Trustees. Ms. Freedman began her legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Harry L. Hupp, United States District Court for the Central District of California. Thereafter, she practiced business and insurance coverage litigation and served as the Directing Attorney of the Consumer Law Project and the Homelessness Prevention Law Project at Public Counsel. Ms. Freedman first joined the CSU's Office of General Counsel in 2010. Between 2014 and 2017, Ms. Freedman served as General Counsel for Occidental College in Los Angeles. Ms. Freedman returned to the CSU Office of General Counsel in February 2017 and served as Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Counsel -- Academic and Student Affairs until March 2018.
