Matt Thomas, Ph.D.

As a believer in the critical importance of institutional service, Dr. Thomas is an active university and community citizen. At the university level he was instrumental in the creation, administration, and analysis of the campus’ climate survey, coordinates the new faculty mentoring program, serves on the university’s graduate council, and previously chaired the public safety committee. He has served as an academic coordinator for several degree programs, and has chaired many search committees. His most meaningful service is as chair of the department’s personnel committee.

Dr. Thomas teaches courses in Political Science, Criminal Justice, and Public Administration. He is the author of Reforming New Orleans (with Peter Burns), and numerous journal articles on criminal justice and political science topics.
