Wallace R. Leese, Ph.D.

Outstanding Professor Award, 2017

By holding students responsible for their learning and challenging them to understand rather than memorize, students can be transformed into aspiring professional accountants with unlimited career potential.

Professor Leese is known as a demanding instructor who challenges even the most serious student. Executive Director for University Development, Kristine Mazzei, stated “Honestly, I can’t think of a more deserving person.  After visiting hundreds of College of Business alumni for over two years, I can say with certainty that I hear successful accountants often reference your classes, commitments to quality, and high expectations as central to their professional achievements.”

Leese was the main developer of the 30 credit-hour Professional Accounting Certificate which prepares students for long-term professional success and provides an academically sound undergraduate platform to meet the 150 credit-hour CPA certification standard.  CSUC’s recent improved CPA exam pass rate appears to be a direct result of this program.
