The California State University’s (CSU) Cal State Online and the California Community Colleges’ Online Education Initiative (OEI) have partnered to launch a new online course finder that will provide California’s 2.5 million college students access to more than 5,000 online, transfer-level courses at any CSU or California Community College campus.

CSU students might attend a community college during summer to complete lower-level general education (GE) requirements, while community college students might attend school part-time and year-round due to work and family obligations.

The initiative, called Finish Faster!, will launch in late May so that students can gain additional information about the availability of such courses for the upcoming summer 2018 term. Students will be able to search for classes using a variety of measures including subject matter, Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) requirement, CSU Breadth Area or (GE) requirements. Search results will be sorted by distance from the institution the student currently attends and can be filtered by start date, modality (online or hybrid) and price.

The CSU has a long history of meeting the needs of students through online education, and providing students with additional opportunities to complete their degrees is a key tenet of Graduation Initiative 2025.
