Charles H. Noski, a preeminent leader of major corporations who reached the pinnacle of American business, exemplifies excellence and extraordinary achievement as an alumnus of California State University, Northridge.

Highlights of Noski's distinguished career include serving as senior executive vice president and chief financial officer of AT&T Corporation from 1999 to 2002, and as vice chairman of AT&T's Board of Directors during 2002. Prior to joining AT&T, Mr. Noski served in a variety of executive roles for Hughes Electronics Corporation from 1990 to 1999, including chief financial officer, vice chairman and president and chief operating officer. Previously, he was a partner with the international accounting and consulting firm of Deloitte & Touché.

In recognition of his more than three decades of exceptional work in the field of finance and accounting, Mr. Noski was inducted in 2006 as an inaugural member of the Financial Executives International Hall of Fame. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Microsoft Corporation, Morgan Stanley, and Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. He also was named a Distinguished Alumnus of Cal State Northridge in 2002.

Along with his business accomplishments, Mr. Noski has generously donated his time and resources to many philanthropic endeavors, including supporting his alma mater. He has served on the board of directors of the California State University, Northridge Foundation since 1995, and is a co-chair of the university's "Imagine the Arts" campaign to build a regional performing arts center on the campus.

A California native, Mr. Noski graduated magna cum laude from California State University, Northridge in 1973 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. Then, in 1995, he earned his second Cal State Northridge degree, a master of science in accountancy.

In recognition of his many accomplishments and service to the community, the Board of Trustees of the California State University and California State University, Northridge are proud to confer upon Charles H. Noski the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters.
