Kevin Nagle is the largest local owner of the National Basketball Association's Sacramento Kings and chairman and chief executive officer of Sacramento's newly-minted Major League Soccer team, Sacramento Republic FC. Mr. Nagle was the co-founder and chief executive officer of Envision Pharmaceutical Holdings, the fifth largest prescription benefit management company in the nation, before it was acquired by the Rite Aid Corporation in 2015 for $2.3 billion. He is currently the owner and president of the Nagle Company, which is actively engaged in real estate development, venture capital and private equity.

A dedicated philanthropist, Mr. Nagle was named the United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) Humanitarian of the Year in 2019. This award is Sacramento's premier humanitarian award and is presented annually to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the Sacramento region and have enhanced the lives of others. He set a new chapter fundraising record of nearly half a million dollars from UCP's annual dinner. Mr. Nagle also has donated millions of dollars to a variety of charitable organizations in the Sacramento region that promote health, education, youth development and the arts. He has been instrumental in major fundraising campaigns for the St. HOPE Foundation and Cristo Rey School.

As a boy raised in near-poverty by a single mother, Mr. Nagle aspired to earn a college degree. He began his academic pursuits at Long Beach City College (LBCC) where he was elected student body president. After graduating from LBCC, he enrolled at California State University, Long Beach, where he graduated with a degree in political science and communication studies. He furthered his education with master's degrees in business and public administration from the University of Southern California.

In recognition of his extraordinary philanthropic leadership in support of health, education and children, the Board of Trustees of the California State University and California State University, Sacramento are proud to confer upon Mr. Kevin Nagle the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters
