Lynda Resnick established a full-service advertising agency by the age of 19 and created groundbreaking campaigns that received national attention. With a career spanning more than 50 years, Mrs. Resnick continues to run worldwide marketing and product development as co-owner and vice chair for The Wonderful Company with her husband, Stewart Resnick. The Wonderful Company is a privately held, global company based in Los Angeles committed to environmentally conscious harvesting, processing and marketing through its iconic brands — Wonderful Pistachios, Wonderful Almonds, Wonderful Halos, POM Wonderful, FIJI Water, JUSTIN wines, Landmark Wines, JNSQ Wines and Teleflora.

Mrs. Resnick is renowned as the creative spirit behind innovative and inspiring campaigns such as Telefora’s “Flowers in a Gift,” for making POM Wonderful pomegranate juice a national sensation and for producing the iconic Wonderful Pistachios commercials. She authored a best-selling book on marketing, “Rubies in the Orchard,” and in 2019 she ranked seventh among Forbes’s Top 80 most successful self-made women in America.

In addition to providing nourishing food, The Wonderful Company, under the supervision of Mrs. Resnick, has a longstanding history of giving back, especially in the Central Valley and the island of Fiji, where many employees live and work. The generosity of the Resnicks and The Wonderful Company has helped support community development efforts and numerous educational initiatives.

Mrs. Resnick’s philanthropic interests and activities extend beyond the company. She is a major donor and life trustee of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She is also a lifetime trustee of The Aspen Institute. With her husband, Mrs. Resnick has made a personal commitment to California State University, Fresno that includes providing scholarships to students through the Wonderful Education initiative and, most recently, a $10 million gift for the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Student Union. A portion of the investment will create The Wonderful Scholar Center, a dedicated space in the student union for scholarship recipient tutoring and counseling.

In recognition of her significant accomplishments and generous support of students, the Board of Trustees of the California State University and California State University, Fresno are proud to confer upon Lynda Resnick the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters.
