Inspired by a social media capstone project, he's been succeeding at a career and is recognized internationally for his social media and community outreach for LAPD. He finds new ways to enhance transparency and utilize social media to accomplish 21st century policing.
Met with U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch after being commended for his use and integration of digital media in police work.
On the cover of the Australian international journal, Smith Journal representing the feature, "Thinkers. Adventurers. Makers. Writers. Inventors. Cops from Around the World." Volume 19 earlier this fall. He is the only featured police officer from the United States.
Rejis credits Channel Islands with giving him the ability to connect with people with different perspectives and to work with diverse communities.
