Kerri Donis is the fire chief of the Fresno Fire Department, the first woman to hold the position in the department's 140-year history. She oversees a $70 million budget and a staff of 370; 325 of them are full-time firefighters.
Kerri joined the Fresno Fire Department as an entry-level firefighter in 1996 and moved up through the ranks, where she served as deputy fire chief for more than eight years.
She holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership and is credentialed as a Chief Fire Officer (CFO), Executive Fire Officer (EFO) and a California State Fire Marshal Chief Officer.
Kerri was named a Top Dog Alumna by the Fresno State Alumni Association on behalf of the Department of Athletics in 2008. She attended Fresno State on a softball scholarship from 1987 to 1990.
