  • Recognized on the state and national levels as an expert on workforce development, contextualized learning, vocational programs and regional issues. Sought out as a public speaker on a wide range of educational subjects.
  • Oversaw the expansion of career and technical education programs and significant increase in grant funding for West Hills Community College District, including nearly $20 million from U.S. Department of Labor.
  • Leads "C6"—California Community College Committed to Change—a consortium of dedicated college professionals working together to ensure success and reduce the time for students to acquire the education needed for high-wage, high-skill employment while also meeting the needs of region employers for skilled workers.
  • Serves on the Board of Directors of the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley, appointed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gov. Edmund G. Brown Jr.
  • Awarded the 2008 Marianne Loniello Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association of Community and Continuing Education.
  • Elected by peers to serve as regional Vice President of California Community College Association of Occupational Education.
