Recognized on the state and national levels as an expert on workforce development, contextualized learning, vocational programs and regional issues. Sought out as a public speaker on a wide range of educational subjects.
Oversaw the expansion of career and technical education programs and significant increase in grant funding for West Hills Community College District, including nearly $20 million from U.S. Department of Labor.
Leads "C6"—California Community College Committed to Change—a consortium of dedicated college professionals working together to ensure success and reduce the time for students to acquire the education needed for high-wage, high-skill employment while also meeting the needs of region employers for skilled workers.
Serves on the Board of Directors of the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley, appointed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gov. Edmund G. Brown Jr.
Awarded the 2008 Marianne Loniello Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association of Community and Continuing Education.
Elected by peers to serve as regional Vice President of California Community College Association of Occupational Education.
