Founded Teague Custom Marine Inc., which builds and markets specialty powerboat equipment, in 1972.
Won dozens of national and world championships in power boat racing and holds several speed and endurance records. Inducted into the American Power Boat Association Hall of Champions in 1985, 1988 and 2003 for accomplishments during his boat racing career.
Competes in several classes and categories of power boat racing including Inboard Endurance and Offshore. Grand National racing is his main class in the Inboard Endurance category and he has raced in almost every offshore class that has existed over the last 40 years.
Developed a line of CARB-certified low emission engines at Teague Custom Marine, one of only three CARB-certified high performance engine builders on the planet.
Was chief test evaluator for
Powerboat
magazine and served as technical editor since 1992, the same year he began his monthly question-and-answer column, "Teague on Tech." He also holds the same position in
Performance Boats
magazine.
Joined the City of Los Angeles Fire Department in 1973, where he served for 23 years. Retired in 1996 with the rank of Captain II.
