  • Has served for over a decade as the Chief Monitor and statewide manager responsible for insuring the program integrity of California’s approximately 3,000 Child Nutrition Program agencies that administer the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program; the Child and Adult Care Food Program; the Summer Food Service Program; the After School Snack Supplement; the Summer Seamless Feeding Option; the Special Milk Program; and the State Needy Meal Mandate programs.
  • Her team annually safeguards the proper use of approximately $2.4 billion in federal Child Nutrition funds through ongoing efforts of compliance monitoring reviews, complaint investigations, audit follow up reviews, and other activities.
  • She also manages the day-to-day operations of the six local field compliance services regions in California through the direct supervision of six regional supervisors and approximately 70 professional and support staff.
  • Involved in many professional service activities and the recipient of numerous distinctions: Vice Chair of the Commission on Dietetic Registration for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; Winner of the National Excellence in Community Dietetics Award from the American Dietetic Association; President of the California Dietetic Association; Lifetime Fellow of the American Dietetic Association; Lifetime Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; Certified Toastmaster.
  • Outstanding Alumni Awards from California State University at Chico and Sacramento. Distinguished Alumna from College of Natural Sciences at California State University, Chico.
  • She is a certified clown (named Bananas) and went to clown school.
