Prior to joining OWN in 2008, Nichols was senior vice president of entertainment communications for Disney/ABC Television Group. There, she oversaw strategic communications for five business units: ABC Entertainment, ABC Daytime, ABC Studios, ABC Family and SOAPnet.
For three years prior she was vice president of corporate communications and publicity for ABC Family, managing a staff of publicists and outside public relations firms charged with creating and implementing strategic PR plans targeted at viewers, advertisers and affiliates.
Previously, she was vice president of publicity for Fox Family Channels and Fox Kids Network, Fox Family Worldwide and also served as director of publicity for Saban Entertainment where she was the principal architect of publicity campaigns for the company's juggernaut Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Nichols won CableFAX PR Executive of the Year in 2011 and is a member of the Television Publicity Executives Committee (TPEC) and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
