Rivera produced Pixar's film Inside Out, which received the 2015 Academy Award for Best Animated Film.
After seeing Luxo Jr., while a student at San Francisco State, Rivera cold called Pixar. He became the first production intern for Toy Story, sweeping floors and getting lunches, but still considered it his dream job.
He has since worked on nearly every Pixar film ever made including Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, and Cars.
In 2010, he was producer of Disney•Pixar’s animated feature film Up, which won an Academy Award for best Animated Feature Film.
Rivera’s diverse professional background includes working in music stores, toy stores and playing in hard rock bands—what he jokingly refers to as “the perfect training for working at Pixar.”
