  • At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Brown Trafton became America's first gold medal-winning women's discus thrower in 76 years. She is one of only three American women to have ever won the event.
  • She ended her 2008 season ranked No. 1 in the world.
  • During her college career at San Luis Obispo she was named NCAA All-American six times.
  • Brown Trafton currently works on the board of directors at the USATF Pacific Foundation, which supports athletes in track and field, cross country, long distance running, and racewalking.
