Founded Julie Nation Academy in 1972 with two rooms and very little furniture. She built it into the premiere modeling and talent agency on the West Coast. The Academys mission is focused on education, increased confidence and leadership skills in girls, boys, young women and young men.
Julie Nation Academy is celebrating over 40 years of serving agents and employers with qualified models and actors. The Academy's talent is currently on national television shows such as
America's Next Top Model
and
The Young and the Restless
and in national and local commercials with clients including Chevrolet and Pepsi.
Hosts the International Model and Talent Showcase and Convention where students, graduates and the public-at-large are invited to showcase their talent for national and international agents, casting directors, and employers. The Academy also provides models for a number of non-profit organizations to assist them with program and fashion show needs.
Every Julie Nation Academy workshop and training includes core programming in self-esteem and confidence-building focused on developing and strengthening an individuals sense of self-worth. She and her staff members also have a history of speaking to public and private school audiences.
Past executive director of the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce. The Academy is a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and in the last year provided philanthropic support for the Sonoma County Task Force for the Homeless, Redwood Empire Food Bank, and Schools Plus to provide funding for Santa Rosa City Schools.
Recipient of a Commendation for Outstanding Achievement related to Education from the California State Senate.
