Selection Process

The process for selecting VISTA members is an opportunity to learn more about 

the program and for the VISTA team to get to know you.

steps in the selection process:

STAGE 1: SUBMIT YOUR MATERIALS
We accept and review application materials on a rolling basis from March through mid-May but encourage you to submit as early as possible. VISTA positions are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Required application materials include a resume, cover letter, and online AmeriCorps application.

STAGE 2: INITAL VIRTUAL INTERVIEW
If you meet the program qualifications, you will be invited to participate in an initial interview between March and May to learn more about the program and available positions​ via Zoom video conferencing. This will also be a time for us to learn more about you and your professional goals.

STAGE 3: FINAL VIRTUAL INTERVIEW
If you are invited to continue in the selection process, you will participate in a final interview during April or May with the VISTA leadership team via Zoom video conferencing. VISTA members do not interview with the campus teams.

STAGE 4: MATCHING
If you advance to this stage, the VISTA leadership team will proceed with the matching process. We will match you with a VISTA position based on your interests, knowledge, and skills.

STAGE 5: START SERVICE
All VISTA members start service at their matched campus on Wednesday, July 7, 2020. This date is not negotiable.
