Posters & Presentations

The ARI P.I. meeting will focus on communicating your science in simple but accurate terms to fellow scientists, most of whom don't work in your field. With that in mind, be sure keep all slides simple and easy to follow.

A second and equally important function of the meeting is to network. Is there someone that can add a valuable component to your research or that you can learn from?

Abstract Book 2017

P.I. & Student Oral Presentations (PowerPoint/Prezi, etc.*)

Length: 5 minutes followed by 2 minutes of Q&A. This will be strictly enforced.

Content: Each presentation must include these sections:

  1. Identification of the problem
  2. Importance of the problem to California agriculture/renewable resources
  3. Experimental approach
  4. Take-home result (not all results)
  5. Future plans and needs

*A PC will be used for the presentations. Please be advised that slides made from Apple products (e.g., Keynote) may not render properly on a PC.

Invited Colleague Oral Presentations (PowerPoint/Prezi, etc.*)

Length: 5 minutes followed by 2 minutes of Q&A. This will be strictly enforced.

Content: Each presentation must include these sections:

  1. Identification / overview of research area
  2. Take-home results of one-two projects with illustrating data
  3. How your area of expertise can be applied to California agriculture/renewable resources
  4. Future plans for research and potential collaborations



Posters

The dimensions for the poster should not exceed 42 inches wide x 42 inches tall. The poster must include the following:

  1. Title of the ARI project
  2. Abstract/summary: Identification of the problem
    1. Importance of the problem to California agriculture/renewable resources
    2. Experimental approach
    3. Results (if any)
    4. Major conclusions (if any)
    5. Match funding sources
