Supporting faculty research

Since 2009, COAST has provided over $1.4 million in support to CSU faculty members. As a result, faculty members have secured over $13 million in extramural funding.

Training students

COAST has supported over 1,100 students through research and travel awards and our robust summer internship program. As a result, students have gone on to succeed in the workforce and in graduate school.

Informing decision-making

COAST provides a platform to effectively communicate our members’ expertise to stakeholders, including federal, state and local governments, industry, and the public, leading to more informed decision-making in all matters relating to the coast and ocean.
