​​​Facing countless hardships, Todd Callahan turned to higher education in hope of reclaiming his life. During his first year of college, Todd had to learn to walk again following surgery to repair his knee and ankle tendons. While attending school and working full-time, Todd was caregiver for his mother who was lost to cancer. With few resources available, Todd didn't believe he could finish school.

Todd overcame adversity and graduated with high honors and two associate's degrees from Santa Ana College in 2014 and transferred to California State University, Fullerton to pursue a bachelor's degree in public administration, where he continues to excel with a 4.0 GPA. Todd received the President's Volunteer Service Award from President Barack Obama for his volunteer work and is a lifetime member of Phi Theta Kappa.

After completion of his bachelor's degree, Todd plans to pursue graduate degrees in public administration and law leading to a career in teaching. Through teaching, Todd hopes he can help students break through the chains of hardship and actualize their potential.
