For nearly 30 years, CSU Summer Arts has been a life-altering experience for both students and communities.
CSU Summer Arts is a unique arts summer school and festival of the California State University. We offer master classes in the visual, performing, literary, and media arts to CSU students and others. World-class guest artists with a passion for their craft teach and mentor, often working one-on-one with each student.

100 percent of donations go directly to student scholarships. CSU Summer Arts is a nonprofit organization, and the success of our students is amplified with the generous donations of the community.
Many students are unable to experience the life-changing environment of CSU Summer Arts without the help of generous donors like you. Imagine studying with the best of the best in the industry: Emmy Award winners. Tony Award winners. National Dance Award winners. Internationally acclaimed musicians, painters and academics. Some of the best creatives in the arts converge at Summer Arts for four weeks every summer.
Thanks to your gift, students work in a collaborative environment where nothing interferes with their creative practice. They are forced to look at themselves in relation to their art. They are questioned about why they do what they do and what it means. By living in residence with other artisans, students are completely engaged in their discipline. Simply put, there is nothing like CSU Summer Arts in the world.
“Moving, beautiful, unforgettable, unique, astounding, heartfelt. . . if I could do something like this for the rest of my life, I would. I am truly moved.” A "Steppenwolf School" student, CSU Summer Arts, 2002
More than 70 percent of CSU Summer Arts students receive scholarship assistance. This is thanks to private donations and sponsorship, as well as support from every CSU campus. It is our goal that no student is denied a CSU Summer Arts experience due to inability to pay. Student enrollment fees range from $1,611 to $1,977 per student, not including room and board.
All our public events are offered at little or no charge to the community. We do this to bring the arts to everyone. The CSU Summer Arts Festival features more than 30 public events, including performances, lectures, screenings, and exhibits by guest artists from all over the world, as well as student work. Ticket proceeds will support the CSU Summer Arts scholarship program.
