Distinguished Teaching, Counseling or Librarianship Award
Northridge
Psychology

The more you do, the more you can do”

Dr. Fahmie lights up with excitement on the first day of a new course. Her goals are to leverage students’ natural passion for learning, assist them in overcoming personal challenges, and watch them build a renewed sense of accomplishment and motivation to do good in the world. Her creative and energetic approach to classroom teaching is not only acknowledged by students, but also researchers who benefit from her careful evaluation and publication of pedagogical practices. She was awarded the Chancellor’s Office Proven Course Redesign Program grant in 2016 to redesign a bottleneck course in the Psychology major and has since evaluated its positive effects on student success. In 2019, she was awarded CSUN’s Distinguished Teaching, Counseling, or Librarianship Award.
