In her role as president of Kaiser Permanente Southern California, Miller-Phipps, who has more than three decades of health care experience, leads hospital and health plan operations and partners with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group to improve the health of the system’s 4.5 million members and their communities.
Miller-Phipps oversees funding and grants for programs that cultivate improvements in the economic, social, and environmental factors that strengthen the quality of health in Southern California, totaling nearly $1 billion in support annually.
Prior to her current role, she served as president of the Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Health Plan Georgia Region in 2014, where she was responsible for the delivery of health care to nearly 300,000 members through a network of 26 medical offices and specialty centers, and four contracted hospitals.
Miller-Phipps served as senior vice president and executive director for Kaiser Permanente’s Orange County California Service Area from 2002-2014, where she learned the value of relationship and team building. Under her leadership, the Orange County Service Area grew membership from 290,000 to over half a million members.
Miller-Phipps serves on the board of directors and executive committee for the California Hospital Association; the Presidential Health Advisory Council at the University of La Verne; the advisory board for the University of Southern California’s Leonard D. Schaeffer Center, and the board of directors for the Southern California Leadership Council.
