  • Hughes is a partner, producer and investor of theatrical productions on Broadway, London’s West End, and other venues throughout the U.S. and internationally.
  • Among his shows is the current revival of “An American in Paris” that won 4 Tony awards, and “Come From Away” which opened at the Schoenfeld Theatre on Broadway in February 2017.
  • From 1994 to 2010, he was president and CEO of American Business Media who repositioned the association from a traditional publishing group to a global organization of business information providers.
  • Other positions included Vice President/Station Manager of WCAU-TV in Philadelphia, and VP Marketing for CBS Television for the 1992 Winter Olympics Games.
  • Received two Emmys as a producer of sports and entertainment events, Media Industry News Lifetime Achievement Award, and Crain’s Media Business Lifetime Media Innovator Award.
  • In October 2016, received the National Distinguished Alumnus Award by Theta Chi fraternity. As a student, he was one of the founders of the Long Beach State chapter.​
