Major initiatives and partnerships are a critical part of our work to support educator preparation throughout the CSU with strategic, accessible and actionable information. This is a selection of our major initiatives and strategic partnerships:
With funding from the S.D. Bechtel Jr. Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, EdQ is partnering with UPD Consulting to conduct a ‘data diagnostic’ analysis of the technology architecture used by CSU educator preparation programs. This data diagnostic will allow CSU to evaluate their current state of technology, current state of data use, and identify critical gaps between current state and desired state.
In January 2018, with funding from the S.D. Bechtel Jr. Foundation, EdQ launched a project to support a pilot to implement a comprehensive candidate data management system, TK20 by Watermark, in two CSU campuses and to generate lessons that can help determine the feasibility of implementing at scale across all CSU campuses.
CSU Long Beach and
CSU Fullerton were awarded grants to participate in the pilot after a competitive review.
In July 2018 the EdQ Center was selected to participate in an Improvement Research Fellowship designed to build the improvement capacity of participating teams and support improvement research on teacher preparation. The fellowship is supported by the S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation and led by the WestEd improvement science team. This opportunity grew from our Center's work as part of the
New Generation of Educators Initiative (NGEI) that sparked the development of the EdQ DataView dashboard.
