Effective Beginning of Business (BOB)

  • Appointments: A50, A52, A54, A56

  • Mandatory and Permissive Reinstatements: A57, A58, A59, A68

  • Changes in Status: A60, A61, A63, A64, A65, S46

  • Leaves of Absence With Pay: S43, S49, S58, S59, S60, S61, S62, S63, S64, S65

  • Miscellaneous Changes: 105, 120, 122, 215, 330, 405, 415, 416, 430, 445, 505, 560, 565, 645, 702, 703, 704, 711, 712, 715, 716, CRO, MHR, MSA, MIS, SCR

Effective Close of Business (COB)

  • Leaves of Absence Without Pay: S42, S44, S45

  • Separations: S10, S21, S30, S31, S34, S35, S41, S70, S71, S90

Exceptions:

  • Suspension (S85) is assumed to be effective at the beginning of the employee's work shift. The date recorded by the campus, however, must be consistent with the disciplinary notice served.

  • Nonindustrial Disability Leave (S49) is effective on the first day or part of day the employee is in nonpay status.

  • Death (S95) is always recorded as the actual date and time of death without regard to beginning or close of business.

  • Cancelled Appointment Transaction (S99) must bear the same effective date and hours as the original appointment to be cancelled. If no 'hours' were entered on the appointment, then "BOB" must be entered in the hours field of the S99 transaction.
